  • Wild flower alternatives

I just know this is going to be painful to post.
Bought a pack of wild flower seeds, had another pack and a few packs of "things".
Prepared the area of about 3 sq meter.
Scattered seeds, the whole lot, should have had enough for around 8-10 sq meter.
Result is rather pathetic. Not much green shoots. One new pack was 60 poppy's of a type that look impressive, and another pack of mixed poppies.
So far I can count 5 poppies growing. They are normally counted as weeds and grow everywhere.
I must have added 200 poppy seeds. One lot received 5 days earlier. 5 seems a bit poor.

Any alternatives that might show life in a short time. The other lot has been in for about 6-8 weeks. Long enough that some green may be 100% proper weeds.

Through the dry spell the area was watered, so don't think I killed off that many.

Likely will not read for a few days. To allow changes to take effect. Just impatient today.

I have done poppies into troughs or pots and find they are rather slow anyway, or at least for me. They get there eventually .
