I'd bo along with shirl. I've grown some flowers from seed for the first time in my life this year. They take ages!!

How about French Marigolds?
I've sown 3 lots so far and the ones I sowed 4-5 weeks ago are just starting to open up and show their petals... not the most interesting flower I know, but if time is the top priority...

Ammobium - the winged everlasting and Californian poppies are fairly quick - about 6 weeks from seed to flower if that helps.

I would have thought it might be a bit late, but any hardy annuals could be sown now.

One of my favourites is lavateria.
