flowers grown on trees

I was wondering if there were any that could be 'planted' on trees? Like orchids but I'm guessing it's too cold here for that.

There's some nooks on my fruit trees that would be perfect plant pots for something. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Struggling to come up with anything beyond mistletoe, which isn’t much of a flower.

easy enough to grow flowers through trees like clematis for example, not sure that there's anything you can grow in a tree in this country that wont damage it.

What your asking is a bunch of epiphytes

Not sure if any of the orchids and bromeliads would be hardy enough in the UK. They tend to be grown indoors.

What about trying a little Sedum? Dunno if it would work but they seem to grow on next to nothing??? Golden Sedum would look pretty!

Personally I'd leave it to nature. Birds or bugs might want to turn those nooks into homes. Or nature will plant them up for you.

Spider plants are pretty hard to kill off even indoors so could quite easily spend the summer up a tree! Some house plants and all of the hardy annuals plus from now on the half hardy annuals would thrive in the vee of a tree as long as they were watered regularly. It could cause the tree to rot in this location though!

don't need flowers! - and I never heard of houseleeks but I just googled it and it's what I saw in Canada and they come back from extreme snow every year so if I can get them here, I'll definitely get them - even if not for the tree.

never heard of sedum either, but they sound good too. i'll keep an eye out for them.

yep, I'd love to have orchid-like things, but I did think the climate would disagree with them. shame.

they looked great when I saw them in Japan, but I'd like my fruit trees to be healthy so not chancing mistletoe!
