Mother got off nest to grab some food when she heard me rattling the mixed corn bucket for the rest of them
I did spot another two chicks under one of the other hens one black one and another striped one. So there are at least three chicks.

I put the new drinker and the chick crumb dispenser in the coop but the other hens would rather eat the chick crumb than their layers pellets!

Five chicks up til now. I've already put this grainy piccie on the scrapheap challenge thread but, a proud Daddy can't have too many piccies of his babbies! These two appear to be sharing motherhood!

Hopefully the other broody hen, who is swapping between two clutches of eggs will manage to hatch at least one chick for herself

The three closest to them. The light brown large fowl, the white bantam and the brown and black bantam.

The white bantam is the boss though. She's been with the cockerel for years so has friends in high places!
