  • Grow your own chicken!

    Hi grapeviners!

I'm new to this & wondered if anyone had ever tried growing their own chicken?!?!
I grow gourds & craft with them. My egg holders are rather popular. Attached a photo, hope thats ok.

Hello Gourdlover and welcome to the Grapevine.
      Do you keep chickens yourself?

Hello Gourdlover & welcome to the Jungle, I'm sure some members would appreciate instructions on how you make these.

          Thanks everyone,
I don't have the pleasure of owning chickens unfortunately as my gardens too small. I rent a plot for my polytunnel to grow my gourds but not allowed chooks.
Happy to guide anyone on how to grow or craft gourds.

Ah, that's gorgeous! I had a google for decorated hen gourds and I can see so many lovely examples. Gourds are the perfect, plump, chicken-y shape.

Would butternut squash be suitable, or does it have to be an ornamental gourd type? I'm almost tempted to grow some just to do this!
