  • Finally, I have my chickens

I got my three hens on Friday after waiting since April, patient or what. I got a Isa Brown, Speckledy and Sussex star. They seem to be happy as I got my first three eggs on Saturday morning.
They are held in a run but I am going to extend this as I feel its not large enough. I have removed some slabs and am putting a fence around this area with protection against the dreaded fox.
Can I ask for some advise. Would anybody know where I could get large wood chips for the run as what I am using at the moment is getting very wet?
Could I also ask if cutting the wing feathers is difficult as I will need to do this once they are given more space?
Many thanks for all the responses I got in May/June when I was deciding on the types of birds to get.

    Hello
Clipping wings is very easy. There are loads of you tube vids. I find it easier to get the man to hold the chook and for me to extend the wing out to trim feathers.
