  • Old spuds???

We have a bag of last years potatoes which were stored in the barn and have been frosted. They're all rubbery and translucent now.

Thing is- can I cook them and give them to the gals???
If so- I presume I could freeze some of them once cooked to give another few days from now???

Would you think they'll be OK??- they don't smell and not mushy.

when i kept chickens i used to boil up old potatos and potato skins and them mash them to give to the chickens, it did them no harm and they loved it as a treat.

Yes it will be fine. They will leave what they don't fancy. I have a wheelbarrow full of old spuds to use up as well. Just haven't got round to cooking them up yet!

I'm not a chook person but my granny had hundreds of them. She used to have an old boiler(not a hen ) that she used to cook that sort of stuff in for her hens. Frosted tatties become sweet so I suspect your chooks will love them

As long as they aren't green of course.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
