cockerels and ducks

Ihave been given a duck and two full sized rhr. I want to put them with the banties and the silkie cockerel but will the duck and the cockerel be ok or will it be world war 3. Does anyone have experiance of this?

I've got 3 cockerels and their assorted laydees in the same area as my 8 ducks (2 drakes, 6 ducks)

They pretty much all ignore one another, but will drink from the water at the same time or eat from the same feeder; and I have found a duck and a chicken in the same nesting box before...

Can't say about ducks but my male gosling was subservient to my two cockerals.
He didn't get older than 8 months though- so I've no idea how he would have been when his hormones kicked in.

Are they confined or free range, if they are free they usually keep out of each others way, although I did have a bantam hatch 12 chicks in the duck house once, no idea how she managed that! but then insisted on living in there, luckily everyone survived the experience.
If they are confined you may find that the water and food become very messy and ducks pooh rather a lot so your eggs will always be dirty and as ducks can be a bit naughty and lay where they want the hens might get the same bad habit.

thanks all they seem ok so far the duck is very messy and throws the water everywhere.

Mine are in a very large pen... about 70ft by 40ft, and I always make sure that there are enough feeding and drinking stations so the chickens don't have to share with mucky ducks!

Mind you, they will often drink from the manky duck pond water, regardless of the fact their is a clean bucket of water mere feet away!

Yes, my Chooks would far rather drink the water that the Geese have been playing in, than their own fresh water that the Geese can't get at.
