I let my Orpington chicks out this morning - after their first night in a "proper" coop. Went back in the kitchen for a cuppa. Heard a very strange noise from outside - seagull? crow? sparrow hawk? - went back outside and there was one of the chicks crowing for Wales! Not yet 7 weeks old!ohmigod!
As he did sound like a crow/jackdaw of which there are dozens each morning I should be able to put the blame on them if anyone notices!

LOL Sue, Have you got any photos for us none chick owning peeps, I love to see everyone's ladies...or in your case Mr's, I say it every time I wish I had room or could get away with Ladies even if it were only 2.

Nice to know what I have to look forward to Sue! I have hatched 3 Orpingtons (now 3 days old) so will see if they crow early too. I have to say, I was quite surprised when one of my bantams crowed at 7 weeks last year. I had never had any start that early before.

Yes I was surprised to say the least! These are bantams too so may not be as "placid" as Orps are reputed to be!
