Myrtle was marching up and down the path between the coop and the gate just as it was getting dark. Funny how the back of a chooks neck can radiate impatience and disapproval.
Maud was already on the perch and Madge was kicking the neatly banked shavings around the coop.
My crime? I was late providing their corn and the pop hole and front door were still open
Must do better tomorrow.

The chooks are happy though 'cos I hung up corn cobs for them all, but the looks I got when I was doing it ........................ "Come on, hurry up, we haven't got all day to wait for you to stop faffing around, and why did they get theirs before we got ours and we think theirs is bigger than ours as well so get out of the way!!"
