Personally I wouldn't be doing the dunking method at this time of year, as they are often also in moult and with the weather so cold personally I think its a bit cruel.
I have tried the dunking method, with no obvious success. My dunked broody won't come near me anymore though as I'm the big bad wolf as far as she's concerned.

Put her in a cage/crate with corn and water, but no bedding. Keep it somewhere out of draughts, like in the main coop, where she can see her friends. Leave her in there for four days and nights. That should do it. Failing that, just go and 'hoik' her off the nest about a hundred times a day!
Oh, and wear welding gauntlets - broody hens are spiteful!
