I think you might find they become the norm for the "lucky" hen. Makes me wonder what happens to these huge eggs. They're much bigger than the large shop size - Harrods maybe?

Could it be a double yolker??????

My biggest was 102g (still got the shell ) and the tiniest was 14g. I think it's Lavender (Amber Star ex-batt) that lays the big ones, I get about 4 a week and they're usually double-yolkers
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

She often lays whoppers. They are always MINE!

Our biggest has been 102g-- a double yolker. We don't get one like that every day-- she seems to lay an 'ordinary' size egg (60-70g) in between and then have a day off. They are all amber stars.

I agree Bephlam, i never thought of weighing my eggs until I saw the 1st in this post. I thought my eggs were massive until they nudged the scales at 80g I stopped weighing after that!

Until yesterday, when I got the daintiest of eggs weighing in at just 29g I'm not sure what went on yesterday, but it bought a smile to my face.

They might slag initially but you've been a trail blazer haven't you? They're all at it now!
