We had a good fall of snow last night and the chooks were seriously unimpressed. No-one came out of the coop for a while, then while I was bending over the bin full of wheat trying to dig it out of the snow, my young Minorca lad Pablo decided to venture out and flew up onto my shoulder! First time he's done that, he's only just started taking food out of my hand
he stayed there while I walked to the house and back to show OH. He was grateful when I put him in the field shelter though

Big boss standing there saying "It's ok, get out there you wimps!" and the "worrier" saying "It's cold on my feet, is it cold on your feet? Bet it's cold on our feet over there. Are you going over there to find out? This bit's cold on my feet as well" Well that's what my Hazel and Myrtle would be doing if they weren't tucking into warm rice and mash
I'd rather my girls had longevity than lots of eggs but that's easy for me to say as we have eggs.
Do they have chilblains?
