  • Hen House arrived!

Delivered yesterday in 2 large flat-packs. It won't be going up this weekend - field trip on Sat, Christening on Sun - and then there's the little matter of building a fox-proof run. However, I'm now one step nearer to being a chicken keeper!

How exciting. Have you found a source for your hens yet Flummery?

Hooray! Personally I'd blow out the Christening...

Have you a design for the run yet? Home made or off the peg?

Oh how frustrating, in boxes and cannot even build this weekend! Almost like putting the kids presents under the tree a week before Christmas and telling them not to touch!

Congrats and good luck. Know how you feel, if all goes to plan, by the 24th, should be up and running... it's so exciting!

I've opened the boxes and played with the pop-hole (what a baby!). Christening is my new grand-daughter Paul, won't get away with that!
There's a lady who advertises in the Practical Poultry mag who is near us. I'll give her a ring when the run is done. It's home-designed which is why we're waiting to get the house up before we start it - it needs to fit!

Brilliant news! At least the coop came before the chooks (sorry, I was trying to be funny there - a play on 'which came first the chicken or the egg?'...it's a lot less funny now I've had to explain it...I'm leaving now...**limps off in an embarrassed way**)

Oh yes, Nicos - I'm a woman after all! And I've changed it 3 times!

Dunno Becki - I thought the coop and chooks joke was quite inventive!

You might be as well phoning her now, Flummery. Quite often stock is already reserved or is hatched to order. I've had mine on order since November.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Hmmm. I wonderd if she would say they're ready now and there'd be a panic! Might ring and ask what the situation is. Good thinking there!
