My niece has lots of chickens and swears by the vinegar solution to introduce new one. Not tried it myself as although we have a boss hen she is not very bossy.

i only have 2 hens in an eglu. they are on woodchippings and they roam round the grass as well. they are also allowed to scratch around my raised beds the paths are also chipped. the bullying chicken seems to have learned her lesson and we have no trouble from the little madam. we still would like to introduce another hen to the eglu
