Balloons 'scared hens to death'

Can't remember if it was on here I read it but apparently if a turkey is sitting and a rat attacks its belly and starts eating it alive, it doesn't even move!

I had a turkey that got lame, so I put him in a small pen alone to rest his sprained leg. 2 days later I noticed blood on his feathers, and when I looked he had been 'chewed' to the bone across his back. I had to put him down. And THAT was (going by previous behaviour) the least stupid turkey I ever owned (out of several dozen).
