One of my rescue chickens has decided she must get out of the garden to the patch of overgrowth outside our garden gate -she waits for you to open it to get the car out then comes at you like an all-american football player!! There's no stopping her - I've tried running at her to shoo her in, barking at her like a demented dog - a very scarey sight but to no avail- she just dodges you & disappears into the grass... is she broody? She is also the only rescue chicken who is self pecking - do I have a psycho-chicken??

I think there is a good chance she is - try following her and see where she goes as you might find a nest somewhere.

will do -I assume this is the season for broody chooks - of the three rescue girls who live in a converted kennel only one is in there at sundown when we go to shut them up - the others are choosing to sleep elsewhere... and my eldest girl is not sleeping in her tree at the mo, but all appear for breakfast in the mornings - I was out at 2AM this morning answering the call of what sounded like a chicken under attack from a fox/cat - but when I found her she was fine & perched on the edge of my veggie patch, she then let me carry her back to her house! I hope they all return to normal soon!! I need my sleep!
