Like others I think the leaves have been scorched, and I think they are a bit young to be shedding leaf, so when watering them make sure that you only water the compost and not the plant, if the leaves do get wet shade them from bright sunlight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
