  • Wrinkly sprouts

Had a quick visit to the plot at the weekend and noticed the sprouts - that are growing well, but seem to look a little out of sorts.

I've got a couple of pictures on my blog. Does anyone here know if they're ill, and if so what's wrong?

    Any info much appreciated.

Could be aphids HeyWayne. Try the old washing up liquid solution (you only need a few drops in a hand sprayer). Do it a couple of times. The detergent breaks down the waxes in the aphids' bodies and they succumb (in theory!). Aphid attack can make plants' leaves grow quite wrinkly and deformed.

They look fine to me HeyWayne. As Flummery said, Aphids do cause a degree of leaf curl but keep us posted if you notice anything else.

Nice to see a picture of the Hay Wayne on your blog. I slept there once on a geography field trip.

Aphids sound like a possibility. There were a load of small grey slightly furry looking little "buds" under the leaves of one the plants (which incidentally hasn't grown at all since being planted). I didn't really pay them much attention, but I guess they must be aphids.

I'll fill up a squirter and see if it makes a difference.

Posh Geogrpahy trip by the sounds of it. We never went anywhere like that. Glad you like it.
