And how do you do companion planting. I will be planting herbs and flowers in my beds that are companions to the main crop.

Its changed again
Forgot about the laurel thats against the fence. Its really small but i quite want to keep it in the bed as its a bit of green in the winter.

But you have to take into consideration the impact they will have on each other though - my main concern was tall plants casting shadow on small ones. Then factoring in the whole companion planting thing (or rather the things that dont go well together) i cant see how you would do it (without clumping stuff together in vague patches) without it being a massive logical puzzle. This is as much as my newbie brain can handle
