  • sweetcorn question

Hi all, I planted a block of sweetcorn out and all was going well but now something has eaten quite a bit of it. My lovely block is now more individually spaced than it should be (if you get what i mean!). I have some more plants but i don't know what variety they are. I know I read somewhere that you have to be careful not to cross pollinate sweetcorn but can i ask why? does it mean that it won't grow, or will it not produce cobs or what? Sorry for appearing dumb but if I don't ask I won't ever know, will I?
    Thanks Raine

I read that on my pack too, but I've put mine next to the baby sweetcorn

It was the only free space I had

I would fill the gaps with the plants you have. I have read that you're not supposed to plant the extra sweet types with ordinary types, but I'm not sure what difference it would actually make. They're all edible, after all.

Thanks- I think that's what I'll do -nothing ventured and all that!
