  • stupid question coming up :-)

What do parsnip shoots look like? I think I may have a few? I haven't weeded there yet, I don't want to pull any up

Are there any good sites with pictures on?

    Thank you

    Ooooh, one more

tomatoes. One got left on the ground and I forgot about it, there are loads of little tomatoe plants growing now

I saved it because the pack tasted so nice I wanted to grow them. They were from a shop, will that matter? They were organic, not sure if that then means the seeds would be organic and therefore any crop?

They are only at the 2 leaf stage, so have no idea how they will do!

Chrissie - At this stage of the summer, it's unlikely that these seedling tomato plants will get to fruiting stage. They take a long time to grow and even longer to get ripe fruit.

You could be very lucky but the odds aren't in your favour - don't waste too much energy on them.

Sorry, that sounds a bit pessimistic doesn't it!

Next time, keep the seeds and store them so you can use them next season.

You could always try potting one up and keeping it indoors. Then it might give you ripened toms later in the season. If not, all you've lost is a pot of compost.

          Thank you for your advice

I'm not too worried about the tomatoes, they were a suprise! Good old mother nature

I might just save the one or two, only because they tasted so nice!

Thank you for the picture of the parsnip shoots. The, erm, things in my plot look a bit different, they have wavy edges on some of the leaves

I'll take a photo tomorrow and post it, see if anyone can figure out what they are!
