          Last year I grew spuds in tyres that ended up 4 deep.
          Slugs - keep an eye out for the beautiful, exotic, tasty little critters but....
          I painted the tyres with some left ove magnolia paint, added eyes, a nose and a mouth and then when the spud started growing over the top tyre it looked like a crazy hair cut. Grandson loved it. Mind you he was not so keen on it when the paint started peeling and the spud monster began to look like it had leprosy. He is only 4 though.
