    I am with Bill on this one.

    Toms grow very quickly and whilst you may pot them deep they will just get leggy again and again.

    Unless you have the right equipment i.e. grow lights its just far to early for most summer plants not just toms.

      I love sowing a few toms early (feb!) but I would also use Bills plank method!!! Save yourself hassle and start again at the correct sowing time.

        I sow a couple of Gartenperle in Jan, and grow them on the spare bedroom windowledge until they can go out in the greenhouse, at first just during the day and back in at night. It's a bit of a faff, but means I have tomatoes ripe in June, so I think it's worth it

        The rest get sown in March and I don't have to baby them
