  • Which way to put potatoes in - related to position of stubb-like-knobbly-bits?

    Morning all,

I have some potatoes and have left them out a bit (I believe the term is something around the word 'chit' or something ) and they have developed, what can be described as small stubb-like-knobbly-bits with small little shoots(?) coming from them.

I was wondering do I plant these in a certain way (as to say which ways should te stumpy-knobly-bits face?).

I also left the potatoes at the patch as I scrambled back home to avoid getting more soaked (they are in the shade) - a little bit of weathering wont do too much harm will it?

I mean I have lots of potatoes shooting up from old compost peelings - potatoes seem to be resilient buggers!

Stumps or chits facing upwards Samuel. The weather won't harm them at all, but get them planted as soon as you can.
