  • Sowing in the rain!

Is it ok to sow seeds outside if rain is forecast or will the rain wash the soil off the seeds? I'm thinking of carrots, sp onions, lettuces, peas etc.

Thanks (and sorry for asking such a stupid question!)

It is a very good ides to sow just before the rain!

Do make drills and mark both ends rather than surface cast and remember that if you are using slug pellets that they loose effectivness once wet and will need to be replaced after the rain (or use slug traps instead - much more eco friendly).

    Take a hat!

Depends on how heavy the rain is! Good idea to sow before rain, but you might consider covering seeds with cloches or fleece
