Tomato help ???

I have grown four varieties of tomato's from seed this year. Urbikany and Latah which are bush varieties and Reisetomate and Rose de Berne which are cordon varieties.
All plants have done very well ......
BUT
I didn't label them sensibly.
Can anybody tell me if i can identify the difference between cordon and bush plants before the fruit grows???

Ooops! That's extremely annoying... I've got some "mixed" brassicas which I am hoping are going to make their end product known soon!

All of my tomatoes (cordon and bush) look pretty similar at the moment. They are about six weeks old and about six inches high. The differences are in colour and leaf shape rather than growth habit at an early age. Some of my cordon tomatoes are already producing side shoots, so that's not an indication

Did you grow the same number of each? Can you tell them apart in any way at all yet?

I'm not sure of the varieties you're growing but are any of them 'potato' leaf varieties?

None of the plants are 'potato' leaf variaties.
I can tell the difference between the four types of plants but just cant tell the difference between cardon and bush plants.
My only concern is that soon I will have to start training the cordon plants and removing the side shoots.

Yes, I see your difficulty.

I will have a good look at mine and see if I can spot anything that might be of use.

Unfortunately I am not growing any of your varieties.

I believe Paulottie is growing Rose de Berne - you might mail him and ask for a photo, perhaps?

it'll be obvious when they fruit If they don't have differnet leaves it is almost impossible to tell. I've got Moneymaker, Gardeners Delight & Cedrico and they all look the same !!! I tend to sow them in batches so the Gardeners Delight are 2 weeks infront of Cedrico and thhats two weeks in front of Moneymaker so the size of the plant helps but Labels are the best bet ...... until you drop a trayfull !!!
