Do my toms look too leggy?

I planted the seeds mid Feb and they've been on a south facing windowsill ever since.



Any advice welcomed.

It looks like they are leaning to reach the light. Try turning them round every day(twice if possible) so that the pull of the main source of light is more even. That way they will lean more often but the turning will cancel any over exaggerated lean.

Does that make sense to you?

They do somewhat but not beyond recovery if you plant them deeply. Personally I find this is the main problem with sowing so early and find it easier (and less stressful ) to sow them about nowish. Wrote the labels out for mine today and will probably sow in the next few days.

Might sow a few more in that case then, just to be on the safe side. First time I've ever done toms from seed as have just erected my first polytunnel on the lottie. Alway bought plants from garden centres in the past but wanted some varieties that were blight resistant, as we had blight on the lottie last summer.

As the others have said, replant them as deep as the first set of true leaves. My tom seedlings were sown about the same time but I put them out in the cold greenhouse within a week or so of germination. They are very small still and still in modules but once I pot them on into pots the size you're using they'll race away (I hope!).

I planted my seeds on 23rd of Feb then potted them up about 10 days ago. If you have roots coming through the bottom of the pot then pot up also. They look pretty strong so shouldn't be a problem.

The girls have got it right but stake them as well. That will stop them leaning
