shortly be coming up to 29 mark :/ and this is the second year of having my allotment .......although been growing tomatoes and chiles at home for a few years previous to that

Im 23 and I have been growing my own for 3 years. Used to help my grandma when I was younger but didnt really start growing my own until 3 years ago when I was in a time of crisis and it was the only thing that calmed me.

I turned 35 this year and I have been wanting to grow my own for a few years now but being a lazy so and so never really got round to doing much other than strawberries until this year. I have to say I am hooked and spend a lot of my spare time looking at my veggies growing.

I am 48. I dipped in and out for many years but nothing serious til last year. I put my name down for an allotment in 2005 and got it last November. In anticipation of a plot the previous year I read square foot gardening and I was off......now I am completely hooked and have even just bought a second hand mantis"...... I'm loving every seed and I am still in wonderment at every germination, seedling and growing plant. My first chillis of the year are about to redden up"....yippee

Well, hit 50 this year and have been growing on a small scale for about 10 years but like Florence as the kids have grown I've claimed the garden as my space and the lawn has gone and I have a veg patch, greenhouse and lovely flower beds. It is truely addictive and when people ask what I'm doing with any free time (like this week annual leave) it's a no brainer really, GARDENING! Love growing salad stuff and as others have said, still find it amazing what grows from these little seeds.

Went to the Lottie yesterday evening and a lad of fifteen has just taken on a plot! Can't believe someone so young so interested. Am thrilled by the younger generation - teens to twenties growing their own. Good on you all!

Didn't grow anything last year but started again this year in the middle of April, should have started a bit earlier but there's always next year.

Have applied for an allotment but I think the waiting list round these parts is fairly hefty.

A 12/13 year old girl has done the same next to me. Her dad is doing the brunt of the work, but she's very keen.. Really nice to see. Well I presume that she's age, very young mind. I hope my daughter(s) turn out the same.

Yeah I've got a fair few containers going and have 'appropriated' a couple of the flower beds in the garden.

I guess I technically fit into the demographic of the younger folk getting into growing their own because it's the trendy thing to do but I've been wanting to do this for about a decade.

Always been into the idea of being self sufficient but hadn't really grown anything before as never had enough space to grow everything I'd need to eat in a year (and I can't afford to buy a nice homestead in the country) but have decided that I can at least grow as much as I can.

I'm 53 next week and have been growing for 4 years. I never had any interest in gardening until my wife decided to grow Toms French Beans and Courgettes in containers in the yard that we had which only got direct sunlight for 2 hours per day.
Became instantly hooked and moved into our present house as it had a garden.

49 only been doing this for two years, started because I got 3 chickens and quickly found out that they poo for england, did some research on disposing it and acquired a dalek, now I had compost and one thing lead to another, my tiny garden is now crammed with raised beds, pots and containers and I love it
