May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand

I've got 15 kids to keep amused every Friday afternoon at school. The weather has been challenging; it's rained every Friday since we started.

We manage to dash outside between showers and make a lasagne bed. I'd collected bags of grass clippings, autumn leaves & weeds, and a pile of newspapers. These are layered in the raised bed, watered, and left to rot down. The equivalent amount of topsoil would've been over £100

We've also planted onion sets in modules, we've shelled beans (they love that). Next week we'll be planting some peas that I've chitted at home, the week after we'll do broad beans then sweet peas.

Then in the depths of winter we'll be chitting chickpeas and lentils, to eat as sprouts, and we'll sow some trays up with wheat & oats, to make winter grass for the guinea pigs.

Oh, I also get them to plant completely useless things, just because they like planting: maize from birdseed and saved pumpkin seeds.

Then there's bird cakes to make (suet fat balls filled with seed).

I'll also get them to make seed bombs from poppy & calendula seeds (because I have millions) and they can "bomb" areas of wasteland on their walk home.

        Loads to do!
