is it worth overwintering chillies.if so...how?

I cut my apache back to the main stem pretty much (bar a couple 'branches') 2 years back. It came back twice as large, bearing twice as much fruit. In it's 3rd year it produced 2 chillies that got eaten by something (put it outside) and died shortly after. I'll be doing it again this year

Oh yes - and all it's leaves dropped off too, so as above don't worry about that
