I recently planted some seeds in a propagator, which started to germinate. But I've noticed, that on top of the soil is a layer of what looks like white mould. Is that normal? What do I have to do?

Sounds like the compost is too wet, and there is not enough ventilation

Yep RustyL's right I'm afraid. It does sound as though you have wet the compost too much.

There's not a lot you can do I'm afraid. try takig the tray/pot out of the propagator and standing it on newspaper, the excess may well get soaked up and if it's uncovered the extra ventilation may help - take it in the house if it's not already. I fear it may be botrytis which will see off any seedling that may germinate unless you are very lucky.
