  • Strawberry Seedlings

    Hi

I have some strawberry seedlings that have germinated in a heated propagator on my kitchen windowsill.

They are probably around an inch to an inch and a half tall now...when is the right time to take them out of the heated propagator? And what is the ideal environment after that? I have bought one of those plastic greenhousey things from B&Q that I intend to put against a south-facing wall in the garden, would this be ok?

(I just read something about putting seeds in the fridge first, which I havent done, does this matter?)

    Thanks for any advice

I would take them out now, they only need the heat to germinate. Mine are in the unheated greenhouse but I would give yours a day or so just on a well light windowsill to cool down and then get them in the growhouse.

ETA: some seeds need a chill period before they germinate but not all so it's OK not to have done so.
