strawberries in grow bags

I'm growing my strawberries in grow bags, should I be 're-potting ' them into new grow bags each spring?

Or will they be ok in last years bags provided I feed them weekly?

Through lethargy rather than planning I left three strawberry plants in a growbag overwinter and was pleasently surprised when they showed signs of growth this spring. I shoved in some chicken manure pellets (as I had some available) and later put some granular tomato food in the watering funnels (i.e. cut off bits of plastic bottles).

There are a good few green strawberrys on the plants now, looking like they'll ripen nicely. One problem is that the growbag itself is a bit battered but I think it will survive this season.

As I said, this wasn't planned so it's a nice bonus rather than a definite recommendation that it's a good idea.

Watch out for slugs, they seem to love the damp plastic.............

Thanks for the replies.

The reason I ask is that the 2 bags with runners from last years plants (which are in 'new' grow bags) are looking much more forward than last years plants (in last years grow bags!).

So I think I should have replanted them in new compost (don't think slugs are a current problem) but as they are in fruit (its just quite small) I'm hesitant to do it now.
