no dig method

hi im thinking of trying the no dig method on the plot
is this the correct way of going about it
1 clear weeds
2 spread some muck
3 cover with cardboard
4 cover the lot with some membrane

now do i have to clear all the weeds roots and all or just take the tops off?
or is it cardboard first then some muck ?

any help appreciated

That's it DD. SOme people double dig the first time & maybe every 4 or 5 years, but then it's not strictly No-dig

You don't have to put the cardboard down either it's just a bit of extra insurance the firat year to cut the light out to weeds.

In subsequent years just spread Muck/compost over the beds & leave it to the worns.
