  • Spindly cabbage seedlings?

When they first come up are cabbage seedlings long and spindly? I've never grown cabbages before.

I'm using artificial lights with plenty of lumens and 6500K color. Everything else under those lights looks good. Very nice stocky tomato seedlings and pepper seedlings.

Only the second year I have grown cabbages, but these look pretty much like the seedlings of the spring cabbages I grew last time.
They are kinda spindly, but I’m sure they will fatten up later ;-)

I planted out sprouts and cabbage (winter jewel) today, this is a picture of them last week in the poly tunnel, they were a bit spindly but basically strong. I moved them outside for a few days to get used to the outside temperatures.

This is how they look having been planted today, there was lots of strong roots. There are 2 very weak cauliflower that I stuck in to see if they will grow
