Na. That's not going to happen. I only use gloves for nettles and scooping up leaves. You cant plant and weed with gloves.

Although kneading bread dough gets rid of ingrained dirt.

Not wanting to expose my feminine side too much, but...

Lush do a 'mechanics soap' really works well to get compost, dirt etc off!
And because it's all natural, doesn't dry your hands out too much!

I have clarins hand and nail cream but have recently converted to bodyshops Hemp hand cream , I use the face cream too

Body shops Hemp hand cream is the best. I was given it by my sister in law as she didnt like the smell, it smells fine to me. You only need a small amount and it does a fantastic job.

The only time my hands look presentable is during the winter months when I'm not gardening! Otherwise there's always some ingrained soil that I cannot quite shift. I've always been a bit of a mucky-pup tomboy as opposed to one of these effortlessly glamorous women so at 48 I think it's a bit hard for me to try changing now Luckily I only work part-time and am in a newsagents so tend to get a bit of ink on my hands from the newspapers anyway Mind you...I washed my hands the other day in warm water with washing up liquid in and they came out spotless!

I'm forever rubbing hand cream in too so my hands don't dry out.
