Toilet rolls for seeds.....now there's mould!

useing loo rolls for carrots parsnips this year srart them off in the greenhouse see how they do

I think they may be too short. I've used kitchen roll tubes with great success.

not even to give them a start then plant them out in raised beds ?

The tap root grows very quickly. By the time you can see the seed leaves the root may be getting to the bottom of the loo roll. I personally like to grow them a bit longer than that, as planting them out at that stage I think has an increased risk of some failures
