My Original Wormery has spring a leak!

My plastic worm bin had formed a small hole at the bottom of the bin where the liquid feed is stored. Does anyone have any ideas on how to seal it?
I'm emptying it all the time but as the hole is very low down its still leaking out.

I know nothing about things like this but could bung the hole with silicone sealant (the sort of thing you put round the bath)
As I said, not a clue really but it makes sense to me.

I did wonder about sealant but will it stick to plastic? I'm rubbish at DIY!

Hmmm, I'm probably not the best person to ask either It might be better to wait for a more experienced person to come along - it could be quite an expensive experiment if it doesn't work

I used silicon sealant on the inside of my water butt and it was fine but you would need to get it clean for it to stick.i have also used pond liner repair/ joining tape in the past, that's good too but will also require cleaning of the surface first. Application on the inside is crucial as it will tend to force sealant into the gap as it fills putting the patch on the outside will result in it being pushed off

Hello Scarlet I know I may be a bit late for this advice but I have always found a hot blade is the best way for sealing holes in plastic containers, use a tea light for heating the blade and lightly draw it over the hole until it is sealed.
I know that worm juice is one of benefits of worm bins but I was told to add dry cardboard to the worm bin if it is too wet and damp cardboard if too dry. (But even with that you still need to seal the bin)

Thanks Rary, I do use shredded news papers and also my old egg boxes in it.
As for the leak, I've got another one!! I used Snakeshacks method and it worked but I had to empty the bin and now I have a new leak in another spot. Presumably these bins have a certain shelf life, I've had it for nearly 10years and the plastic where the liquid feed is stored is where the leaks are forming. Time to get a new one I think!
