Does anyone know where to get an inline water butt pump? One that connects with say hozelock fittings. Hubby wants to connect one water butt to another with hose and have the facility to pump water from one butt to another, probably by using electric drill. If I haven't explained this very well, I apologise - not really my field.

MARKSMAN DRILL POWERED PUMP WATER POND POOL SYPHON ATTACHMENT & HOSE CONNECTORS | eBay
Is this what you are looking for? I take it there is some distance between the butts, if not then a strait through gravity fed connection should suffice.Last edited by cheapskate chaz; 02-07-2013, 09:14 PM.Girls are like flowers, a little attention every day and they`ll blossom.

How close are the butts? Can he not just set up a siphon from one to the other? Hose full of water from one into the other and both will fill at the same rate if that's what he wants?!?!

Having just asked hubby, it seems I have it all wrong. (No change there then) he says he doesn't want a drill powered one, but wants a stand alone (electric) one. Hozelock fittings/inline. I thought the one you found was great, sorry to be a pain.

Various butts, some are 25m or more apart, also to use rainwater to refill pond which is uphil. The pump is more of a have to hand item rather than a 'use now' thing. Perhaps I should 'butt' out and let him solve his own problemOriginally posted by Stan79 View PostHow close are the butts? Can he not just set up a siphon from one to the other? No sorry that is a submersible, I now know why he was having difficulty. I understand he has searched web and ebay. To tell the truth I think the stumbling block was the hozelock fittings and the pump being outside the butt, you can get a karcher thingy but that is way expensive and has to sit inside the butt. One other issue is that the butts are old plastic barrels without removable lids, only small holes for drainpipe, although they do have tapsOriginally posted by cheapskate chaz View Post

Yes, I've come to that conclusion with my own OH. I find he only asks me to fix the problems that he finds tedious, eg he can manage to organise a footy trip to Russia, but he is simply unable to work out how to drive me to an art gallery in the next townOriginally posted by jayjaybee View PostPerhaps I should 'butt' out and let him solve his own problem

Can I presume you have 240v electric supply to hand?
And one of you is a handy type person?

Oh yes he's very handy. He's just fixed next door's hedge trimmer when black & decker couldn't. Whether he will consider spending too much time on it is another matter.Originally posted by Potstubsdustbins View PostCan I presume you have 240v electric supply to hand?

Cheapo central heating pump, pair of pump valves, 2 short ends of 22mm pipe, 2 22mm x 15mm reducers, 2 short ends of 15mm pipe, 2 hozelock adaptors.
Only thing is you would have to make sure the pump was full of water before you switched on.
I will have a think and see if I can come up with a better idea.
