2009 Showcase competition?

New to the forum and growing (well about 4 weeks) but my question is how do you enter your crops into the showcase and when can i post photos for it

I don't know if we will have an online show this year.
Last year's nearly didn't happen, and was well into the season when it finally did, so lots of crops didn't make the competition. (Moderators are unpaid volunteers, and don't have the time to do it).

The 'Fruit and Vegetable Showcase' as a board, is basically for you to show off your crops, greenhouse, veg plot etc in photographs, and you can post those in a new thread any time you feel like it
The 'Showcase' as a competition, if it goes ahead this year, will be announced in due course

I think it might be on the agenda at the next Mod meeting, but in the meantime, feel free to post your own lovely produce.

2009 Showcase competition?

Hi Grapes,

just wondering, as a fairly new newbie, what would the criteria be for the 2009 showcase competition? Is there going to be one?

Just wondering, cause most of you start harvesting now, and I suppose you need to take pics for the competition before you eat your produce.

Dunno - It was a lot of work for the Mods last year and they already do a lot behind the scenes for us. Maybe a competition could be set up using the poll system whereby members get one vote for each category?
Maybe we should just post piccies in the showcase and be happy with any comments anybody wants to make ?

2009 competitions????

Just wondered if we are having competitions again this year??

It's just dawned on me I should perhaps be taking piccies of my strawberries and radish before they have all gone.

I wish I knew the answer to that Nicos It's in the hands of Admin at the mo. If we don't have an official one, we'll definitely be having an unofficial one though so do take piccies if you think something is good enough. I'm thinking we'll do things in 5's for small stuff (carrots/tomatoes/shallots etc) 3's for bigger stuff (courgettes/onions/apples) and singles for things like cabbages.

If you're not sure which it falls into, take a pic of a 3 & a 5 if poss.

As soon as we know anything, we'll let you know, promise

Hmm..that's if I ever grow anything worth entering ( says she who stuffed an ENORMOUS strawberry into her mouth this lunch time which dribbled down my chin it was so juicy!!!!)
