    Ah i follow now. Cheers for the advice Deano. I'll buy some of those large troughs and some strawberry plants at the start of next month and give it a go.

      Right last question. Ive got a load of 10 litre buckets that i use for my tomatoes. Would one plant per bucket be any good or are they better in a longer trough?

        Before having a strawberry patch, I had 4 of these in Glasgow. Replaced the parent plants every 2nd year or so. Very easy to grow runners and keep different varieties apart.
