Strawberries - cross pollination?

Hi all! I snapped up a bargain tray of slightly sad strawberry plants at the weekend from B&Q (75p! ). The variety is Lorus.

I already have some strawberry plants in my garden (variety unknown - I inherited them!), and I wondered if there could be any problems caused by cross pollination between the two varieties?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I think that only applies if you plant to grow the fruits. (from the seeds, I mean). As you're eating them, no probs.

Would agree with Flum, only a problem if you're saving seed and as you'd get more plants by runners you're OK with strawberries. I have 3 different types on the go to keep the season running longer. I do love going into the garden in the morning to pick a few fruits for on my cereal!

I have no idea what this variety will be like, but I think they'll be worth the 75p
