Leave the fruit on... They are called embryo fruit and develop into full figs each summer.
I am sure that someone from your end can give some advice on hardiness.

We have one planted in the ground outdoors and I live in Scotland. Also, ours have fruit on too, don't think they'll ripen though.

I was given an unknown type of fig tree that had been planted in an unheated greenhouse. I have planted it in my unheated greenhouse. What type of care does it need.

I understand they fruit better if their roots are constricted. Some people plant them in a buried container or put paving slabs vertically around it - like a bottomless box.
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I've got 1 which my dad grew from seed (he's not so much a serious gardener as an addict to planting every seed he gets his hands on) It was from a pack of bought figs. I asked if he knew the variety, he said it had produce of Turkey on the pack! I sank a drum in the ground to constrict the roots to encourage fruiting. It's growing nicely but I dont know how long it'll be to get to fruiting age (if ever). But it's not something I'm desperate for so we'll see.
