I've never done mine either! We've already got an OCD thread! This is very disconcerting for us idle bums.

Read somewhere about keeping secateurs and garden knives stuck into a bucket of sand in between uses but I can't remember why.

It scrapes off the gunk and is supposed to sharpen them a bit. Oily sand is often recommended. (I don't, of course!)

Don't think i'll bother either Flum a quick wipe with a rag seems to work OK.
