  • Feed strawberries with bonemeal?

Is it ok to feed strawberries with bonemeal?

Or should it be tomato feed?

I have read that a weak tomato feed every 2 weeks or so after fruit has set

I always put blood, fish and bone round all my fruit every year and especially strawbs,it's the only annual feed they get.

I use chicken manure pellets on the strawberry bed. Works well.

I manure my strawbs after they have finished fruiting, otherwise they only get a comfrey tea watering every week or so during the growing season. Seem to get by fine with that.

I've just had ken Muirs newsletter that says to use potash once the plants are in flower.

Tom feed IS high in potash. I feed my strawbs exactly as tomatoes as soon as the first fruits are set, but give all the fruit (soft and hard, apart from the blueberry) a top dressing of rose fertiliser when growth starts in early spring.
                Seems to work for me!
