I got these hexagonal black tubs from Morrisons (other shops are available) they scared the ants away. I put one in the tub my apple tree was in one in the pear tree tub, one in the plum and one in the cherry, and the next day the ants were gone. These ants had made a massive mess, they had every leaf curled up wrapping aphids snuggly inside. My son and I spent weeks unfurling every leaf every morning, squishing the aphids. It took forever, our hands were a greens sticky mess, but we persevered. We tried sticky tree bands and loads of vaseline, the ants walked through them or on top of dead ants stuck in them! We sprayed with warm water., Water with garlic. Water with fairy liquid in. Nothing stopped them. I don't know what was in them, all I know is that, if the disc is there the ants aren't!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
