I'm moving my strawberry plants from home, where they are currently sitting on gravel and so aren't bothered by the evil slugs, to canterbury for the rest of my uni term, is there any cheap and easy way to protect them from slugs and maybe even seagulls ()?

You could try for slugs.
A tray with gravel in it and put the pots on that.
Vasaline around the edge of the pot.
Egg shells on the ground.
A shallow tray of beer nearby. (hopefully it will distract the slugs)
Not sure about the seagulls though.Last edited by sharonr; 21-02-2009, 08:34 PM.I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
