  • Dwarf Apple Pruning.

Please could anyone tell me if I should prune my dwarf apple tree this year, it is a new tree to me, I bought it as a bare root, earlier this year and it now has lots of leaves and branches, but I am not sure if I have to leave it alone until next year or cut the branches back, any advice would be much appreciated. I have looked at various websites for advice, but none seem to explain about new trees.

    Hi - and welcome ; )

I bought a bare rooted Cox's Orange Pippin 'dwarf pyramid' from Lidl this year, picked most of the blossom off and have two apples where I didn't. I'm not planning on pruning mine this year. I'm no expert, but at the moment, I think it's about watering, mulching and getting the roots established.
