got some photos of my problem. i've been on my hands and knees for a while this afternoon and cleared a lot of it. it's a never ending ask. knowing my luck, next time i go down there will be twice as much!

I found the only way was to hoe between the rows and hand-weed the rows of seedlings themselves. Hard work, but keep the hoe moving and the remaining weeds seem easier to manage.

As far as I know legumes and alliums don't make good companion plants

Have you identified the weeds now?
You mentioned oxalis?

i think they are oxcalis veggiechicken, some with a purple flower. I've taken peoples advice tho, i've hoe'd between the rows and i spent a long time yesterday on my hands and knees getting rid of the weeds that have grown on the rows and around my onions and garlic
